The Fury were down 3-1 coming into the 2nd half (after the ice cut) vs The Jr Predators... We came back and tied it to go into overtime 3-3... Hendy had 3 amazing saves in overtime... 2 of them might have been the best of his career. 20 seconds after thos saves Cotton scores the game winner... What I love most about this was that the team did not give up. They kept playing together as a team. After the 1st period this team was 100% beaten. This was a total team effort! Most people driving through the lush streets of McNeil Estates have no idea they are cruising through the original blueprint of Las Vegas luxury.
I love digging into the bones of this valley. Here are five local history facts that usually surprise my clients.
One: Summerlin is named after Howard Hughes's grandmother. He bought the raw desert in the 1950s long before anyone imagined the master-planned oasis we know today.
Two: Henderson started as an industrial town for a World War II magnesium plant. Now those exact hills in MacDonald Highlands hold some of our most advanced modern architecture.
Three: The deep roof overhangs on our classic mid-century homes were survival tactics. They blocked the intense summer sun before central AC became the standard.
Four: The massive grass lawns in older neighborhoods like Scotch Eighty are strictly grandfathered in. You literally cannot replicate those in new construction today due to smart water conservation rules.
Five: The vintage cinder block walls around our older properties are practically indestructible. I have flipped houses where those original property walls outlasted the foundation itself.

The patio at Lazy Dog in Downtown Summerlin is the unofficial meeting spot for the neighborhood's best dogs.
I always judge a community by its walkability and how well it caters to our four-legged friends. Flipping houses across the valley taught me to look at backyard shade, but the local parks are what actually make a house feel like home.
If you want wide open spaces, the dog run at Heritage Park in Henderson is massive and well-maintained. For a quick morning routine, the outdoor seating at PublicWorks Coffee in Green Valley is my absolute favorite quiet corner.
